- Risk of ototoxicity and peripheral neuropathy enhanced in renal impairment. Ensure pyridoxine is prescribed.
Hepatic impairment
- Use with caution in hepatic impairment.
- Monitor liver function regularly, particularly in first 2 months of treatment.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pregnancy
Not known to be harmful in pregnancy; ensure prophylactic pyridoxine is prescribed.
Breastfeeding
Discuss with pharmacy. Theoretical risk of convulsions and neuropathy in breastfed infant; prophylactic pyridoxine advisable in mother
Additional information
Risk of severe hepatitis. Advise all patients and/or their carers to recognise signs of liver disorder.
