Lacrimal Infections

Lacrimal Infections (Canaliculitis or Dacrocystitis)

Consider oral antibiotics for severe cases only.

Treat for maximum 5 days.

Non-severe

chloramphenicol eye ointment (1%) 6-hourly

Severe

chloramphenicol eye ointment (1%) 6-hourly with either:

doxycycline 100mg po bd 

OR

co-trimoxazole 960mg po bd
