Soft tissue injury, clean

For skin and soft tissue wounds that are clean: 

• Thorough cleaning and/or surgical debridement may be indicated. 
• A tetanus risk assessment should be performed. See Tetanus prone wounds. 
• Typically, no antibiotics are required.
