Community Acquired Pneumonia, including COPD exacerbation

Mild severity

Duration: 3-5 days

Can also be 200mg po OD

amoxicillin 500mg po TDS

 

clarithromycin 500mg po BD

Only use if unable to use doxycycline or amoxicillin

IV (Aim for rapid oral switch)

azithromycin 500mg iv OD

 

amoxicillin 1g iv BD

 

 

Moderate severity, or where hospital avoidance is preferred

Duration: 5 days
